Pawchive Fit Viewer

A userscript for comfortable browsing of Pawchive posts. It shows images at their original resolution, auto-fits them to your screen, and adds a fullscreen gallery, smooth scrolling and a choice of background colors.

Features

🖼 Original quality

Thumbnails are replaced with the original images and GIFs.
Images and videos automatically fit the screen with no cropping or stretching.
Failed images are retried automatically (up to 3 times).

🔍 Click-to-open gallery

Click any image to open a fullscreen viewer.
Navigate with ←/→ arrows, mouse wheel, on-screen buttons or swipes on touch devices. Home/End jump to the first/last image.
Click the image again to zoom to 100%, then scroll around it.
Neighboring images are preloaded for instant switching.
Esc or a click on the dark backdrop closes the viewer. The page scrolls back to the last image you viewed.

🎨 Four background colors

Dark gray, light gray, warm beige and muted olive.
Switch with the dots in the bottom-right corner or the T key.
Your choice is remembered between visits.

🧈 Smooth scrolling

Custom smooth scrolling for the mouse wheel and keys: ↑ ↓ PageUp PageDown Space (Shift = up) Home End.
It stays out of the way inside scrollable blocks (e.g. comments) and while you are typing.

Where it works

Post pages on pawchive.st and pawchive.pw. The theme and gallery are only active on /user/…/post/… pages, and the rest of the site is left untouched.

Configuration

The CFG block at the top of the script lets you tune:

smoothTau: scroll smoothness (lower = snappier);
wheelMult: wheel step multiplier;
keyStep: arrow key step;
pageStepRatio: screen fraction for PageUp/PageDown/Space.

Background colors can be edited in the THEMES array.

Notes

Requires no special permissions (@grant none) and sends no data to third parties.
Compatible with other scripts that clean up <head>: styles are restored automatically.
