☢️ 4chan Media-B-Gone

4chan Media-B-Gone is a duplicate file finder filtering script for 4chan. It lets you hide images and videos, based on similarity to other images and videos, instead of just exact variants. This means that the script will pick up and hide most duplicate pieces of media that gets reposted, regardless of whether they are the exact same file you chose to hide (which is how MD5-based filtering works in 4chan X).

How to use

The script works with the vanilla 4chan site, with or without the native extension. It also works (and integrates) with the userscript version of 4chan X.

To filter a piece of media, click the "☢️"-button present on every post that has a piece of media.

The script works inside of threads, on the index, and on catalog pages. A currently known bug is that dynamically switching between index/catalog when using 4chan X can make the nuke icon appear in a different spot or not at all, but this is fixed with a page refresh (F5). If you primarily use one or the other, you won't be affected by it.

Accessing settings

If you are using the vanilla 4chan site, with or without the native extension, or have disabled 4chan X support, then you can find the "☢️"-button to access the settings menu next to the Index, Catalog and Bottom links at the top of the page:

If you are using 4chan X and have integration enabled (enabled by default if 4chan X is detected), you can find the "☢️"-button to access the settings menu in the top bar, next to the wrench icon to access 4chan X's own settings:

Settings menu

In the settings menu, you can manually edit the hashes of the media you've chosen to hide, and toggle a few settings. The bottom of the settings menu explains some of the elements in it.
