YouTube - Add Download Button with yt-dlp Command

Adds a clean "Download" button to YouTube video pages. This script is for users of the command-line tool yt-dlp.

How it Works

  1. A "Download" button will appear next to the "Share" button below the video title.
  2. Clicking it opens a pop-up window.
  3. Choose your desired format:
    • Video: Best, 1080p, 720p, etc.
    • Audio Only: MP3, M4A, WAV
  4. Click "Copy Command".
  5. Paste the command into your computer's terminal to start the download with yt-dlp.

IMPORTANT: You MUST have yt-dlp installed!

  • This script DOES NOT download the video itself. It only generates the text command for you to use.
  • You need to have the yt-dlp program installed on your PC or Mac for the command to work.
  • You will also likely need ffmpeg for merging formats and converting audio.

This script just saves you from having to type the command out manually.
