Amazon Dark Mode was reported 2026-03-04 for Undisclosed antifeature (e.g. ad, tracking, miner, etc.)

The reporter said:

The most important part of this code isn't the CSS—it's these lines:
const AF_TAG = 'amzstocktrack-20';

The script contains functions (addAFTag, updateLinks, interceptClicks) designed to watch every link you click on Amazon. When you click a product, the script silently attaches that tag=amzstocktrack-20 to the URL.

What this does: If you buy something after clicking a link that the script modified, the author gets a commission from Amazon.

Is it "dangerous"? Technically, no. Your data stays on Amazon.

Is it "honest"? Not really. The script description says "Enables dark mode," but it doesn't mention that it's also turning your browser into a passive income stream for "GreaseMonkeyMan."
