This script enhances your experience on the animated section of Rule34Hentai (it also works with any tags) by addressing the issue of easily identifying and sorting animations based on their duration and file size. By default, the website only displays thumbnails, and you need to hover over each one to see the duration in seconds, which requires mental conversion to minutes. Additionally, posts are ordered by the upload date, making it difficult to find longer or shorter videos quickly. This script aims to provide a comprehensive sorting solution for animated content.

How to Use the Script:

  1. Recommendation: It is recommended to be logged into your Rule34Hentai account to ensure all posts are visible. While the script will function without being logged in, some posts might be hidden. It's also advisable to refresh the page after logging in to ensure you pass Cloudflare's security check.

  2. Specify Page Range: In the control panel that the script adds to the top of the page, enter the starting and ending page numbers for the collection. For example, to collect posts from page 1 to 10, enter 1 in the "From" field and 10 in the "To" field. Caution: Collecting from a very large page range might take a significant amount of time and resources.

  3. Collect Posts: Click the "Collect Posts" button. The script will then start fetching posts from the specified page range. A status message will update you on the progress, indicating the current page being processed and the number of new posts found. Once the collection is complete, an alert will inform you of the total number of posts collected.

  4. Show Collected Posts: After the collection process is finished, click the "Show Collected" button. The script will then reorganize the current page to display the collected posts, sorted into two main categories:

    • Sorted by Duration: This section contains the collected videos, ordered from the longest to the shortest duration. The duration of each video is displayed as an overlay in the top-left corner in hh:mm:ss format (you'll likely see mm:ss as hour-long videos are rare).
    • Sorted by Size: This section typically includes images that were mistakenly categorized as animations, as well as GIFs and other files where the duration metadata was not available. These items are sorted by their file size (weight). This category might also contain very old videos that lacked duration information in their metadata. The file size of each item is displayed as an overlay in the top-right corner.

  5. Clear Storage: Once you have reviewed the collected and sorted posts, it's important to click the "Clear Storage" button. This will remove the collected data from your browser's local storage, freeing up space for your next collection.

  6. Before Each Collection: Remember to clear the storage before starting a new collection. Also, be aware that Rule34Hentai occasionally implements Cloudflare checks that might interfere with the script's operation. Ensure you have passed these checks by refreshing the page. Additionally, the website sometimes logs users out, so verify your login status to avoid missing posts.
