Iwara Keepalive

Keeps iwara.tv video streams alive by refreshing expiring video URLs before the player gets stranded.

Features

  • Fresh stream URLs - Replaces stale or near-expired video URLs without a full page reload.
  • Pause/resume friendly - Handles idle tabs and paused videos that would otherwise fail when playback resumes.
  • Login-gated videos - Renews an expired login token the way the site itself does, so videos that are hidden from logged-out visitors keep refreshing.
  • Revives a dead player - When a stream dies mid-playback, or on a seek into video that has not buffered yet, it brings the player back at your position instead of leaving you to reload the page.
  • Buffer aware - Fully buffered videos are left alone, and the URL is re-signed while you watch so it cannot expire mid-stream.
  • Quality aware - Tries to keep the current video quality when it asks Iwara for a fresh manifest.
  • Video.js safe refresh - Preserves playback position, rate, pause state, and the player layout during source swaps.
  • Knows when to stop - If a video genuinely cannot be refreshed (deleted, private, or hidden from your account) it stops retrying and says so once, instead of failing silently.

Compatibility

Tested with Violentmonkey on desktop browsers. It runs on iwara.tv video pages and stays quiet unless a stream URL needs refreshing. Refreshing videos that are only visible to logged-in accounts requires being signed in to Iwara.
