New feature: purdy URLs
What's 'purdy URLs'?
What's 'purdy URLs'?
Jason is promoting two scripts which make the targeted URLs therein look pretty (or, at the very least, better than in the original format pre-script).

Soooooooo ... ... what's purdy about links? Do you mean they're red now? (yes, i am that think)
The URLs have the name of the script or user in them.
Thanks!

Well, I was close. Regardless, still purdy (I used to know a girl named Purdy - nice gal :) ), Jason. Thanks!
Hello, I am wondering if it is possible to let script authors decide whether to adopt purdy URLs (i.e. an option to switch back to old-style URLs).
Non-english speakers might find purdy URLs cumbersome because their scripts tend to have a name with non-ascii characters, thus yielding an extremely long installation/update URL that does not make much sense (e.g. greasyfork.org/scripts/218-%E8%A7%A3%E9%99%A4%E7%BD%91%E9%A1%B5%E5%8F%B3%E9%94%AE%E8%8F%9C%E5%8D%95%E5%92%8C%E5%A4%8D%E5%88%B6%E9%99%90%E5%88%B6/code/%E8%A7%A3%E9%99%A4%E7%BD%91%E9%A1%B5%E5%8F%B3%E9%94%AE%E8%8F%9C%E5%8D%95%E5%92%8C%E5%A4%8D%E5%88%B6%E9%99%90%E5%88%B6.user.js).
I know the old-style URL (e.g. greasyfork.org/scripts/218/code.user.js) still works but it is a hassle for me to edit the script URL each time I attempt to share it (or @require it in another script if the script is a library).
It's unfortunate that Firefox will by default encode the non-ASCII characters when you copy-paste, because https://greasyfork.org/scripts/218-解除网页右键菜单和复制限制/code/解除网页右键菜单和复制限制.user.js is not that long.
I don't really understand the objection you have. No matter what, it's going to be meaningless to someone who doesn't understand the language. Why not make it meaningful to someone who does?
Edit: Didn't read your entire post. Please ignore.
