"I'd very much like to minimize fics I deliberately mark as seen without the same automatically happening for any I've given kudos in the past." - I think this is a very important remark. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to automate the Send Another Answer screen so that it automatically returns to the form in which students scan their barcode, without having to stop and press. The point is that I am attaching a scanner to my laptop and using a google form so that students that enter the library can just scan their school ID instead of typing in all of their information. I also wanted to display the work of students on the screen so that we could read and discuss together, look for errors, and also check them. It is no secret that many students are ready to ask specialists write my paper than to write themselves
