To do that, you need to go first on the champions map and then you can use your technique. It always worked like that for me. If I use a shortcut to a specific champion from the home page and then I use the previous button, I go back to the home page.
When doing all the champs in a row I used to be able to go back to the previous page and it would load the next champion. Now it work 1 time but the second time it bring me back to the home page
