Description & Instructions

What it does

By default, Rule34.xxx uses a light theme. If you prefer a dark theme, you typically have to be logged in or manually set a cookie that gets cleared in incognito mode or when you clear your browser data. This can be annoying.

This script solves that problem by ensuring the Dark Mode setting is always active, without requiring you to log in or reload the page. It's a simple "set it and forget it" solution for a more comfortable viewing experience.

Features

  • Permanent Dark Mode: Automatically enables the dark theme on every visit.
  • 💨 No Page Reload: The script is smart and doesn't need to refresh the page. There's no annoying white flash on your first visit.
  • 🌐 Works Everywhere: Works whether you're logged in, logged out, or using an Incognito/Private window.
  • 🕊️ Lightweight & Safe: The script is extremely simple, clean, and does only one thing: it sets a single cookie to tell the site you prefer dark mode. No data is collected.

Installation Instructions

  1. Install a user script manager: You need an extension to run this script. The most popular one is Tampermonkey.

  2. Install the script: Click the green "Install this script" button on this page.

  3. Confirm installation: A new tab will open in your script manager showing the code. Just click the "Install" button.

  4. Done! That's it. Go to Rule34.xxx and the site will now always be in dark mode.

Notes

How to make it work in Incognito Mode? To enable the script in private/incognito windows, you need to give your script manager permission:

  • Chrome/Edge: Go to Extensions, find Tampermonkey, click Details, and turn on the "Allow in Incognito" switch.
  • Firefox: Go to Add-ons and Themes, find Tampermonkey, click the ... menu, select Manage, and next to "Run in Private Windows", select "Allow".
